Founding Member of DSPA-Asia GreaterHeat Announces Successful Conclusion of Its Inaugural Filecoin Plus BootCamp

Singapore/Hong Kong (June 27, 2023) – Singapore-based Web3 technology company GreaterHeat, a founding member of Decentralized Storage Providers Accelerator Asia (DSPA-Asia), has announced the successful conclusion of DSPA-Asia’s inaugural Filecoin Plus BootCamp in Hong Kong, and the second BootCamp will commence in September 2023. As a Leading Storage Provider (LSP), GreaterHeat will be the anchor LSP to promote and contribute to the development of the decentralised storage ecosystem in Asia.

DSPA-Asia’s first Asian BootCamp took place at The Conrad Hong Kong over two days from June 26-27, 2003, and brought together top and potential Storage Providers (SPs) from China, South Korea, Japan, India and other Asian regions.

The BootCamp kicked-off with a gala dinner held at The Regent Hong Kong on June 25 officiated by GreaterHeat’s CEO David Li. This included a ribbon-cutting ceremony to announce the official launch of Leading Storage Provider (LSP) Alliance, involving Kevin Zakorchemny, Protocol Labs, Operations – Network Growth Data Programs, E-Fil+, David Li, Chairman & CEO of GreaterHeat’s, Axe OY, New Web Group’s CMO and Titan Network’s Co-founder, Andy Guo, Founder of OriginStorage, and Jim Jiang, VP of Business Development of SXX Future Data. 

Other key partners present at the kick-off included the Hong Kong Blockchain Association, Huawei Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Amber Asset Management, Pomegranate Technology and others.

GreaterHeat is a founding member of DSPA-Asia and also a leading Asian Storage Provider in its own right. The BootCamp was held in conjunction with Protocol Labs, the technology company behind the Web3 decentralized storage network Filecoin. It was created to educate SPs on how to successfully transition from being a Filecoin (FIL) to a Filecoin Plus (FIL+) Storage Provider. The BootCamp involved contributions from over 30 top international speakers from the field of Web 3.0 and Filecoin, as well as Leading Storage Providers GreaterHeat, ND Labs, NewwebGroup, IPFS-Force, SXX, Origin Storage, and Tiger VC.

The BootCamp series promotes deep engagement in the Filecoin Plus ecosystem, provides a range of systematic Web 3.0 storage BootCamp courses as well as rich technical resources and opportunities to network with top Web 3.0 business professionals. It offers learning modules in both business and technical subjects and covers such areas as FIL+ Development History and FIL+ Financial Analysis, Dive deep into LDN, E-FIL Module, Supporting FIL+, Tooling, Deals Sending, Importing Data, and Sealing. The BootCamp consists of two cohorts lasting 6 to 8 months.

As an Asian storage provider which has been deeply involved for four years with Filecoin, GreaterHeat has encountered similar challenges as other Asian SPs during its transition. Understanding the ‘pain points’ of Asian SPs during the transition process, GreaterHeat in conjunction with Protocol Labs created the initiative to share its transition experiences and knowledge within the Filecoin ecosystem to those SPs who need it.

Since 2022, GreaterHeat has successfully delivered decentralized Web 3.0 cloud storage solutions to US, Canadian, and European companies using Filecoin, the world’s largest decentralized storage network. The 760 PiB of data hosted on the Filecoin network includes 26M active data transactions and organizations including UC Berkeley, The USC Shoah Foundation, University of Utah, and many more. More than 1,500 unique clients & users have already uploaded their data to the Filecoin network, with 15% uploading more than 100 TiB.
