The CUPRA FIP Tour is the official international circuit of the International Padel Federation (FIP), hosting over 500 tournaments annually across 44 countries. Asia Padel Events (APE) is the official promoter of the CUPRA FIP Tour events across Asia. In 2025, APE is leading the expansion of the CUPRA FIP Tour into new host nations across the region, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, and more—creating more pathways for Asian athletes to compete internationally and grow the sport across the continent. 

For the first time, Malaysia will join this prestigious list with the FIP Bronze Kuala Lumpur 2025, running from April 16 to 20, 2025, at ASCARO Padel &amp; Social Club, 1 Utama.

Awarded a Bronze classification, the tournament will offer €7,000 in prize money and vital international ranking points, giving local and regional players the chance to compete against top global talents. The week after the FIP tournament, ASCARO is also proud to bring the APPT to Kuala Lumpur from the 25th - 27th of April. As the first-ever Professional Padel Tour in the Asia-Pacific region, the APPT has rapidly become one of the largest and most popular tours worldwide.

With dedicated categories for both professional and amateur players, the APPT provides a competitive platform for players of all levels, giving everyone a chance to battle for glory on the courts.

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 February 2025 – ASCARO has officially launched an equity crowdfunding (ECF) campaign on pitchIN to raise RM20 million to execute ASCARO’s plans to open four state-of-the-art padel clubs across Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta by 2025.

Starting at RM4,550 – the lowest-tier of investment – investors will also be given an additional perk of free membership at ASCARO Padel &amp; Social Club with higher investment amounts.

What has propelled ASCARO’s success so far has been its diversified revenue model with robust streams such as memberships, court rentals, events, sponsorships, coaching and merchandise – ensuring financial resilience.

ASCARO’s expansion plan comes with solid financial foundations. With increased interest from corporate sponsors, coupled with cost reduction from spreading overheads over multiple clubs, each ASCARO Padel &amp; Social Club is expected to comfortably generate an average of RM3 million in annual cashflow. This will enable ASCARO to continue launching new clubs at an expected cost of RM3-5 million per club. The projected number is 15 clubs by 2027, with an expected group-wide profit of over RM40 million. By this time, a clear exit strategy has also been charted, targeting a sale or an IPO (initial price offering) at a valuation of at least RM400 million, based on a relatively conservative multiple of 10x earnings.

With the pre-money valuation of RM91 million, this would make the RM20 million investment equivalent to a 18.02% stake, where investors can expect to make a 4x return on their money within 3 to 4 years.

For more risk-averse investors, however, a fixed investment is presented as an alternative offer: a preferred share option with 15% annual dividends for 4 years and a redemption at 150% of the investor’s initial investment at the end of 4 years. This is equivalent to approximately 2x return in 4 years.

Finally, what this fundraising exercise will achieve will be the building blocks of the ASCARO experience – intersecting sport, luxury, and lifestyle. KUALA LUMPUR, December 2024 - ASCARO Padel &amp; Social Club, Malaysia's premiere padel destination hosted the inaugural GoodFest Event this past weekend featuring a variety of wellness activities and a padel tournament.&nbsp;

As the padel sport has been gaining popularity, the event was attended by about 400 people including regular players, wellness enthusiasts, influencers, and experts from different specialties. There was also a padel tournament, The GoodFest Cup, which added a healthy dose of competition.

"I was absolutely thrilled by the amazing turnout at GoodFest! The event was a perfect blend of wellness, fun, and padel - all complemented by a fantastic weather and enthusiastic guests," shared Deserie Martinez, Head of Events and Communications at ASCARO.

The GoodFest event showcased more than just padel as other wellness activities were also available for participants, ranging from restorative activities like yoga, meditation, and breathwork to strength-building like pilates, core and circuit workouts and barre.&nbsp;

While there were many physical healthy activities, there were also talks that served as valuable food for thought. One of the topics highlighted was about ‘Mastering Manhood’ by Mauri, opening the conversation about what modern masculinity is expected in our current society. This talk brought to light the complex terrains of men needing to balance the personal and professional, with the need to stay physically and mentally strong. The talk encouraged the benefits of belonging to a supportive men’s community – one that can be fostered in places like the padel courts.

The other talk was about stem cell technology and how it has revolutionized the wellness space by Dr. Jezzamine Lim, CEO and founder of Cell Biopeutics Resources Malaysia. Cellular performance plays a big role in the recovery and aging aspect of wellness journeys; this biotechnology has introduced stem cell therapy and stem-cell-derived cosmetic products.

Finally, a padel tournament, the GoodFest Cup was the main event with 98 players competing for prizes and wellness goodies.

Aside from the activities at the event, there were also a variety of products, rehab and physio consultations, and various other wellness-supportive brands. After opening its doors just over a year ago at the rooftop of 1Utama New Wing, the ASCARO Padel &amp; Social Club has set the standard for the city’s padel courts. ASCARO Elevates Padel in Malaysia as the Exclusive  Distributor of Padel Galis

Paris - On July 7, the Paris Court of Appeal will hear what is expected to be the final legal challenge in a dispute involving a nearly US$15 billion arbitration award tied to historical claims over Sabah, a Malaysian state on the island of Borneo.

The hearing follows multiple rulings across Europe rejecting attempts by individuals claiming to be heirs of the former Sultan of Sulu to enforce the award issued by Spanish arbitrator Gonzalo Stampa in 2022. Stampa was later convicted by a Spanish court for contempt and banned from acting as an arbitrator for one year.

At the heart of the case is an 1878 agreement between the Sultan of Sulu and European traders, which remains the subject of legal and historical debate.

Efforts to enforce the arbitration award have been dismissed in Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, with courts citing procedural irregularities, jurisdictional overreach, and the annulment of Stampa’s mandate by Spanish authorities.

With the upcoming Paris ruling, legal experts anticipate closure in a case that has tested the boundaries of international arbitration and sovereign immunity. Malaysian officials have expressed confidence that the Court of Appeal will reaffirm the inapplicability of arbitration to the 1878 agreement.

Despite legal setbacks, representatives of the claimants have signaled intentions to continue pursuing their case through alternative channels, although the path forward remains uncertain.
